Berowra Waters Playground, Berowra Waters

Berowra Waters Playground Hornsby Shire

Berowra Waters Playground can be found on the western shore of Berowra Creek. This delightful waterfront park is very popular for families who love water activities such as boating and fishing, or just a relaxing day by the water.

The park offers plenty of parking, an easily accessible public boat ramp, a fish cleaning station, public toilets, a small fenced kids playground, steps down to the shallow sandy end of the creek, as well as undercover bbqs and picnic tables.

Berowra Waters Kids Playground Area

The kids playground is fully fenced and designed for younger children, and contains a large pirate ship play structure with a lower and upper deck and attached slide, as well as a smaller detached row boat on springs. Inside the fenced play area there is also a covered picnic table and a bench for parents to enjoy some well deserved rest while still being able to keep a close eye on the little ones.

Berowra Waters Playground Play Equipment

Play Equipment:

  • Pirate Ship themed play structure complete with ship’s wheel, decorated with masts and mini sails for creative play
  • Steps and climbing ladder up to top deck
  • Small slide from top deck
  • Small stand alone rocking row boat

What we liked:

  • Fully fenced with child safe gate
  • Well maintained play equipment
  • Suitable for young children

What could be improved:

  • Shade sails over play equipment to protect young skin from the sun
  • More variety of play equipment such as swings

Berowra Waters Park Facilities

The park is right next to Berowra Waters Marina and so it’s no surprise to know the park is well designed for boating families. There is a public boat ramp for easy access to Berowra Creek and the Hawkesbury River beyond, with plenty of parking and space for vehicles with boat trailers. Right next to the boat ramp is a fish cleaning station to clean, scale and fillet your catch of the day.

For those who prefer to remain on land, the park offers a couple of covered picnic areas with picnic tables and electric bbqs. There’s also open grassy areas to spread out a picnic mat or for kids to run around and play. When we were there, we also saw plenty of anglers trying their luck off the embankment by the boat ramp. You will also find water bubblers and taps, and most importantly for us parents with little ones, toilet facilities (however there are no change tables in the ladies toilet).

Facilities:

  • Sheltered picnic areas with picnic benches
  • Free electric barbeques
  • Bubblers and taps
  • Basic toilets and bins
  • Plenty of free parking
  • Public boat ramp
  • Fish cleaning station
  • Steps for easy access to the shallows of Berowra Creek
